What is Site Feedback about?
Have you just read a review about Wealthy Affiliate. Maybe you have just signed up, and you were taking a tour of the platform, but you were curios about Site Feedback.
You may be wondering. What is that about, and how can I use it to my advantage?
Wealthy Affiliate has so much to offer, that many find it overwhelming in the beginning. They are a one stop shop for everything affiliate marketing, after all. From learning to create a successful affiliate website, to actually creating one, and everything in between and beyond. It’s easy to get lost in it all, but this article will tell you everything you need to know about Site Feedback and how you can use it to transform your websites, with just a little help.
So, without further delay, lets get right into it by answering the first question.
What Is Site Feedback About?
Site Feedback is about user experience and adding value within the Wealthy Affiliate platform. It’s about giving users a convenient way, to give, and receive invaluable feedback about various aspects of their websites.
Many people come to Wealthy Affiliate, to learn how to create a long-lasting and successful online business with the affiliate model. The majority of new members are also new to the idea of earning a full time income online, working from home, or owning their own online business in general.
As you can imagine, anyone who falls into one of those categories, likely doesn’t have the knowledge or skill base to create that online business like a pro. At least not yet anyway, and you may also be in the same boat.
Even if you have created a successful website, you could still benefit from this feature, found exclusively on Wealthy Affiliate.
As online entrepreneurs, creating websites and content on a regular basis, we may get lost in the design process and loose site of the many aspects that make our site appealing to visitors.
The best way to check, is to ask for an outside perspective, from a trusted and experienced member of your network.
What if you don’t have a network?
Well, that’s what Wealthy Affiliate is for and the Site Feedback tool with help connect you. However, as I mentioned earlier, you need to be a premium member at Wealthy Affiliate to gain access to this network and so much more. The premium membership costs $49 a month recurring. This is far less than the competition I’ve seen.
As a matter of fact, I would say that, there is no real competition.
Nobody offers the same value as Wealthy Affiliate, for a price this low. Hell, they won’t even try to upsell you on a ton of required products like the supposed competition does, and you can try before you buy with their free membership option. You won’t even need a credit card to get in, and you get two completely free and hosted websites.
Pretty cool, right?
However, there are some banned countries. If you have tried to sign up lately, or you just want to learn everything there is to know about the platform, then check out my Ultimate Wealthy Affiliate review. Its jam packed with everything you need to know, and if you need a faster read, I have a short version listed in that article.
Now to get back on topic, lets discuss how to use Site Feedback to your advantage and get your website headed in the right direction.
How To Use Site Feedback:
Lets start from the very beginning.
You need to sign in to Wealthy Affiliate, and click “Websites”, on the left side of the home page.
Next, click “Site Feedback”, and you will be taken to that home page. You can see the process and the home page below.
On the Site Feedback home screen, you will see all of your previous feedback from other WA members. As you can see in the image, I have recently received some feedback myself. It is encouraged to request feedback throughout the creation of your website, and this is one of the aspects that gets measured inside of Site Health.
If you are just getting started, you will not see anything here, and you will need to earn or purchase some credits to request feedback. Assuming you already have your website up and running, with content and at least a basic layout, of course.
For the newbie, I would recommend offering comments to earn your credits. There are various ways to earn credits, however, Site Comments will be the fastest option, aside from just purchasing them. You will need two credits for every one request you make.
You can offer feedback yourself, and give some constructive criticism to other WA members, if you feel confident that you understand the aspects of what makes a great website. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend it.
Now, I will assume that you have at least two credits, and you wish to request feedback on your new website.
Let’s go over the process of how to do that now.
How To Request Feedback On Your Website
At the top of the Site Feedback home page, there are two options, click “Request Feedback”. You can see how many credits you currently have available on this tab as well.
Now, you will see some option in a drop down menu below this button.
This will be a 4 step process. Don’t worry, it’s very straight forward and easy to do.
First: Specify URL For Feedback
We need to specify the URL, where we would like some feedback. I have entered my website URL, (https://theaffiliatepathway.com/)
Go to your site, and copy the URL for the whole site, or a specific page you are requesting feedback for, then enter it here.
Second:Specify Type Of Feedback Requested
What type of feedback would you like? You may only choose one, and they are all self-explanatory.
Choose one now before proceeding.
Third:Specify Number Of People To Recieve Feedback From
How many people would you like to have feedback from?
Adjust this number using the slider as seen in the image below.
This option is entirely up to you, however, I would recommend no more than three at a time. More often than not, you will receive some quality feedback that will require some modifications to your site.
You don’t want to spend too many credits, getting feedback on the same version of your site, that you already know needs some adjustments.
If you have the credits and desire. I would suggest requesting feedback from two members to start, then adjust to any recommendations they presented, that make sense to you and the direction of your site.
Then, request a couple more opinions, and see what the new feedback points to.
Fourth:Click Preview My Request
As you can see, this will simply load a snapshot of the page you are requesting feedback on. If you are happy with the options you have chosen, press “Submit My Feedback Request”, and wait for a WA member to provide it.
In my experience, this usually happens pretty quick. I would say my average wait time, is less that one hour, but it’s not the same every time. You will receive the feedback when another member is looking to leave feedback.
And I will explain how to do that now.
How To Offer Feedback For Others
Now, I will be the first to tell you that I am not a professional in website design. While I am improving daily, I do not believe that I have mastered that skill just yet.
With that being said. If you decide to offer feedback for another WA member. You should keep a few things in mind.
- The purpose of feedback is to help them improve their site.
- Be sure to focus on the type of feedback they are requesting.
- Always be constructive, thorough, descriptive, and polite. Simply saying, “wow, this is a great site, great job”, is not sufficient. We all have the option to report feedback as spam, if it fails to meet this criteria.
- Remember that, just like you, other members are spending their credits to request this feedback. Don’t let it be wasted.
- After you have given them some quality direction, keep an eye out for a response. They may reach out for clarification about something you said, or to simply thank you for the quality feedback.
If you can stick to these guidelines, then you should be just fine.
Whenever you find a website requesting feedback, you will click the snapshot of their website, or their URL in the top left corner, and visit their site to give it a good look over.
Do not comment on their website with your suggestions.
Always come back to Wealthy Affiliate, and leave your suggestions in the text field below their site image. This way, you earn credit for the feedback, and you don’t air out the dirty laundry on their site. Keep it as professional as you can.
The better feedback you give, the better feedback you will receive. Wealthy Affiliate monitors the comments and feedback from the various SiteRubix tools. They do this to match high value feedback, with members that leave the same. This helps to increase the odds of getting back what you put in.
Pay it forward, pays off in the long run, at least when its quality.
The same applies for low value feedback, so don’t fall into that group, or the feedback you receive will likely not be helpful.
Keep in mind. Sometimes there are no members waiting for feedback.
In this case, you will be given a message that explains this, and encouraged to check back in a couple of minutes.
Just keep checking in, and you will eventually find someone to help out.
